October 2024 and Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights

Much of what I read in October was literature about scenic locations throughout the Midwest. We spent a lot of our October vacation taking in the sights in Ohio and Indiana.

On October 10, 2024 we were able to view the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights.  It was a special experience for us as it was the first time we have been able to see it in our area!

 

We stopped at the world famous Six Hundred Downtown in historic Downtown Bellefontaine Ohio which is owned and operated by 5 time World Pizza Champion Brittany Saxton.There we selected the classic Italian crust on THE LEONIDAS which is flavored with a marvelous garlic sauce and had a topping of baby spinach, artichoke hearts, black and Kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, and Blue Jacket Dairy feta cheese.

The most impressive fall color changes we saw in October 2024 were at Myeerah Nature Preserve. We spotted these trees from the road and were able to see many of the color changes from the boardwalks scattered throughout the preserve. The reds, yellows, and oranges in the preserve were stunning.
