Travis Kennedy Author

Travis Kennedy worked in state and local politics for years but left his position to pursue writing full-time. His work has been featured in the Best New England Crime Stories and Best American Mystery Stories anthologies. He is the grand prize winner of Screencraft’s 2021 Cinematic Book Contest and The Whyte Python World Tour is his debut novel.

Earlier this year, Sophie Ziegler contacted me to make me aware that The Whyte Python World Tour is being developed into a Paramount Pictures feature with filmmakers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

The Whyte Python World Tour is multifaceted read. It takes readers back to the 80's era as it's filled with vivid, colorful scenes with equal parts rock‑documentary and spy thriller. Set in Los Angeles, 1986, the novel follows 22-year-old drummer Rikki Thunder, who’s about to catch his break in the ’80s metal scene only to discover he's inadvertently been roped into an international spy mission. Soon, he’s drumming for the glam-metal band Whyte Python, whose meteoric rise is part of a covert CIA plot to inject pro-democracy rock anthems into the Eastern Bloc during the tail end of the Cold War.
