I remember quite clearly the birth of this blog. Book reviewing was not new to me as I started doing reviews back in the 1980s when I was a supervisor of book requests at a public library. And I got to work with books and magazines when I freelanced for a publisher. I started Lori's Book Loft off as a place to store a few reviews for family and me to discuss and well the blog grew quickly the first year.

This blog has an audience of over 50 countries. In 2018 Feedspot said I was in the top 100 blogs with their metrics and in 2020 I got notice that Lori's Book Loft is listed in the Top 110 of Ranked blogs, chosen from Book Review blogs in their indexes using their search and social metrics.
This is likely due to the fact that I get to present my literary interpretation for a wide variety of genres. And while I like to put my own spin on things, I also feel it is important to look at things from a point of view other than my own. So, I have had a few guest contributors.

Author, Greg Hickey was kind enough to offer to lead as our first "Guest Contributor", compiling a fascinating collection of six philosophical fiction portraits. Greg is the Author of Our Dried Voices and The Friar's Lantern. And his book Parabellum is due out in October 2020. Greg Hickey was born in Evanston, Illinois in 1985. After graduating from Pomona College in 2008, he played and coached baseball in Sweden and South Africa. He is now a forensic scientist, endurance athlete, and award-winning writer. He lives in Chicago with his wife, Lindsay.

I love promoting reading and personally enjoy reading military history so I was pleased to be asked to be part of the Write Now Literary Book Tours Virtual Book Blast for a memoir that was released by Ohio native, Glenn W. Powell. SFC Powell was in service to three American presidents. He retired with distinction from the Military in 2002.

Jonas Salzgeber wrote a guest post on 3 Stoic Mindsets to Adopt for a More Resilient Life. Jonas is the author of The Little Book of Stoicism and blogs for a small army of remarkable people at njlifehacks.com.  He’s an expert in Stoic philosophy and passionate about self-made dark chocolate and buttered coffee with collagen.

I would love to hear from blog readers what topics you would like to learn more about from guest contributors. Feel free to email suggestions to  lorisbookloft@gmail.com

Thank you!
