My Review
This book is a good read for someone who wants to obtain some general knowledge of the Mayans. The book is divided into 2 parts. The first part is the history and the 2nd part the culture. The book is comprised of 10 chapters. The first chapter provides a list of 20 questions to test how familiar you are with the ancient Mayan's. I liked question #5 regarding Mayan beliefs on being cross-eyed.
My Thoughts
Mayan culture is intriguing and this book provides an decent overview on the development of the civilization. It discusses the art, writing, numbers, calendar, politics, mythology, architecture, religion, sacrifice and its ultimate demise.
The book concludes with information on where you can obtain further details on the Mayans.
