The Amazing Ninja Brothers: Entering the Deep Unknown

Best selling author, grandfather and child advocate Robert Martin has written a new children’s book series geared towards teaching empathy for children that have behavioral challenges.

I was thrilled to learn that he began this series off by tackling Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) a chronic condition that leads to hyperactivity, impulsiveness, and difficulty paying attention.

The Amazing Ninja Brothers: Entering the Deep Unknown” with illustrations by Jane Archer is the first book in the series and Tommy is the boy who's struggling with ADHD.

The cool thing about this book is you witness how kids respond to  Tommy and you learn his friends have Ninja powers that help them understand his condition. They use empathy and praise to help Tommy heal.

Martin worked closely with child psychology professionals to create this realistic and sensitive portrait of how ADHD affects a child, and the hidden strengths that a mind that works differently can bring to friendship, the classroom, and home.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 10.4 percent of children ages 5 to 17 have ADHD. “Chances are,” Martin said, “most children have friends or classmates with ADHD, so it’s important they understand what that means and how they can be empathetic and supportive.”

You can check out the video about this wonderful book at this link The Amazing Ninja Brothers: Entering the Deep Unknown.

If you recall earlier this year, I reviewed Martin's beautiful book SuperclaraI absolutely love that net proceeds from the book sales go to the Bridge to a Cure Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed to increase the pace and success of pediatric research by unleashing resources already available today
