My Thoughts
I review a lot of books on gardening but seldom do I review a book on water gardening. I picked this one up at a used book store and it looked like it had never been opened. I thought that odd as it is such a beautiful book.
I've been reading it awhile.
We have a friend that has a magnificent pond which he frequently shares on facebook. Occasionally he posts a photo of himself in the pond surround by lilypads but more often than not you see images of his grandchildren sitting on the rocks -feeding the Koi.
The pond expands a good portion of his fenced in backyard and is often used as a backdrop for wedding photography.
This book has similar photographs!
We love the sound of moving water in a garden and we'd actually purchased a couple of pond liners a few years back and have never gotten around to doing anything with them.
I like that this book shows how to combine rocks and water.
As well as inspiration, it provides some good advice on pooling water.
There are many sections that guide one through care and maintenance and I like the depth of detail on the different plant choices.
