Review: Mustang by Jim Campisano

The Mustang was introduced to the public on April 17, 1964, at the New York World's Fair, and the book MUSTANG was written by Jim Campsiano who began his career as a copy editor after working as a sports writer.

A copy of this book, though over 20 years old, lays on my coffee table as I like to leaf through it frequently.

The base Mustang engine on a V-6 being around 200 horsepower with a vehicle length of just over 183 inches makes it an attractive purchase. We have been fortunate to own two in our lifetime. One, a 1st generation, and one with retro cues code-named S-197.

There are many ways to make a Mustang look unique. Most of us know that adding an exhaust system to our pony is a  popular Mustang mod but some may not realize all the different routes such as axle-back, cat-back, headers, or a downpipe depending on which engine you have.

It's not unusual for me to leaf through texts finding questions like what do you think of either getting white stripes or matte black stripes? How about a gloss black hood vent? Do you like side scoops, window scoops, window louvers? How about adding an x-pipe exhaust?  What do you think about a front splitter? Can we add a  painted factory spoiler? How about a sporty hood scoop? Do you like a custom grille with fog lamps and pony emblems?

If you're looking outside of the automobile you can order Mustang Collectibles such as stadium seats and folding chairs, bar stools, key chains, wall decals, bandanas, pint jars, and even tents with the Mustang emblem.

If you are looking to check out Mustang paint codes you should try this link My favorite color still remains a silver-blue metallic, and my husband's favorite is still lime green. This book is filled with many attractive full-color photos of Mustangs in almost every color imaginable and more importantly, it tells how the Mustang of years ago evolved to a fuel-injected performance car.
