Description

Lareesa Stanford grew up training troubled horses and has been invited to work with a horse at the World's Horse Expo in Saudi Arabia. When exploring a local bookstore, Reesa discovers an ancient book about a group of tribes known for a treacherous horse race that crowns the winner their tribal leader. She stumbles across a mysterious, hidden inscription on the back cover that when spoken transports her to a desert land in another world. In order to return home she must find the man chosen by the gods to win the ultimate race. Little does she know the hardships and challenges that await her as she fights to keep her freedom in a foreign land and make her way back home.

My Thoughts

In this read, set in the desert, the protagonists, Lareesa is orphaned and behaves like a horse whisperer. I like that while at a bookstore she happens upon an ancient book with hidden inscription and is sent to another world by a spell that has been cast that transports her to an oppressive culture. This book is recommended to all fantasy book lovers.

I received a copy of this book through the generosity of the author.
