May 2020 Loft Reads

We have spent the month visiting with neighbors from a distance and are sociable with others through internet and phone communication.

Our Memorial Day celebration was quite different this year from past years.  Instead of gathering at a community service, I recognized and remembered the contribution of our military personal and honored and mourned their passing from home.

Typically, to honor the treasured memories of those fallen, we fly the flag at half staff from sunrise to noon and then raise it to the top of the staff until sunset. However, this year, we received damage to our flag pole and flag, and the repairs and replacement flag were obtained after Memorial Day passed. The new flag now waves above a bed of Petunias.

Catherine Curzon and Eleanor Harkstead were in the Author's spotlight this month.

I received the gift Cook Smart Perfect Recipes for Every Day by Pam Anderson. I have been reading through it and plan to try out a variety of the sauce recipes it contains.

When not working and reading, I've enjoyed watching youtube homesteaders garden tours. The husband and I were able to get our kitchen garden planted in May and are looking forward to watching things grow.

The Top 10 Audience this month has been from the United States, Russia, Hong Kong, Romania, Germany, Mexico, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada, and an Unknown Region.
