I have a co-worker who often reads crime stories and tells me she spends much of her free time watching re-runs of criminal minds where they use behavioral analysis and profiling.
I proceeded to tell her I'd recently received the book Lethal Family.
If you are not familiar with this title, it is the third book in Blake Sebring's, Luke Rennison Chronicles. I've reviewed the other two books Lethal Ghost and Lethal Justice here.
Lethal Family synopsis is 'Heroes in movies never worry about doubt, hesitation or consequences. They just react and plow ahead with conviction, and somehow everything works out perfectly. That’s just not how things work in the real world. There’s always somebody second-guessing, judging, and making you think before you act. There are always results and ripples of action that you can’t account for. Somehow, by taking out a serial killer, I have created someone who is now hunting me and my family, someone who has been inspired by a monster into becoming something almost as bad. We don’t know who, when, or where, but we know they’re coming for us. So the real question is will we be prepared when they do?'
My Thoughts
As much of the book deals with serial killing and death one might know this book speaks of depression and the loss of energy one feels when one loses those that one cherishes.
In bringing things together the book points out the will of people is to wake up joyful - valuing those around us.
When reading a thriller, I often have to decompress. I have a large collection of old albums and music is an excellent coping skill so I greatly appreciated the page of tricks (lists) to come up with while listening to the radio.
