In "Subsurface History of Humanity: Direction of History," Victor Torvich gives a sweeping overview of global humankind's history for the last 44 thousand years. The book will help you to make sense of human history.

Victor Torvich found the objective direction of the history of humankind. How fast is humankind moving in the found direction? Is that move controllable by humans? Why humans rule the Earth? Which force is driving humanity's development? These are other questions Torvich answers in his wide-ranging book.

Torvich looks at history from the viewpoint of a precise science. Insights from his scientific papers on humanity's complex system helped him find out where humankind is headed.

The book concludes with a discussion of which circumstances could shortly lead us off the uncovered course.

I received a copy of this book from Victor Torvich for my honest review.

Review: Subsurface History of Humanity: Direction of History by Victor Torvich

I have had Victor Torvich's book “Subsurface History of Humanity: Direction of History” for well over a year and find it to be an intriguing read written by a  physicist who uses science and reminds us the study of history is a science but not a precise science.

Yes, Victor Torvich covers the last 44 thousand years in the history of mankind to provide us with an engaging look at the direction of mankind’s development.

Subsurface History of Humanity: Direction of History is comprised of seven parts.

1. How to look Below the Surface

2. Under the Surface

3. Mankind Development

4. Mankind Creativity Unleashed

5. Going faster

6. Turbo Mode

7. Looking Ahead

I do like the astute approach the author took in writing this thought-provoking book which is touted for readers with a 7th-grade or higher education.

I appreciate the comparison study of findings of our past and future competitors in helping us recognize the events that can alter the path of mankind's development in the future

In studying anthropology, Victor writes about the figurine of lion-man, as the first confirmation of modern-behaved humans and reminds us how cave paintings caused the scientific community to move the origin of modern-behaved humans date back several thousand years.

In this read, part 7, Looking Ahead, does speak to the known unknowns and grabs attention with the seven events that can alter the path of mankind's development in the future.

An interesting question that many of us, myself included,  had pondered is "Could AI or AGI Get Out of Human Control?" This section shows us what already happened and describes what many online gamers around the world have known for years.

More importantly, the author is using our past to remind us of the importance of making good choices and wise decisions.
