December 2022 Reads

As you can see in our photo above our area did not get much snow. But just prior to Christmas Eve a chilly -9 was recorded with - 39 windchills. The threat of heavy, blowing, snow and chilly weather warnings brought about panic in our family and made them do something they had never done before. They moved our Christmas celebration date up. This was a short notice change but the gifts were already wrapped so we only had to consider schedule changes, drive time, and food preparation.

As it turned out, all went well. We were able to gather together before the temperature drastically dropped and we had a great time!

 We Adopted a Puppy

It worked out that December was a busy month for us as we welcomed a new member to our household - a puppy. She is affectionate and playful and we wish we had the energy she does.

Book Adaptations

New or upcoming movies and television shows based on books continue to be the rage so I have introduced more book adaptations in 2022 and will continue to do so.

Recently, I revisited The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin as it has been made into a movie available on Amazon Prime.  Last year, I interviewed Allen Wolf and recently had communication with him and posted that The Sound of Violet is available on Apple TV, Google Play, Prime Video, or Vudum Blu-ray and DVD with special bonus features.

Guessing Games and Book Emojis

This month, I played a few games one was "Can you guess the book titles by emoji?"  And the other was "Guess the Christmas Carol". Both were a fun way to pass time.

Penguins Books release their emotional emojis which lead me to
look at the trailer for Miss Peregrine's Museum of Wonders

Miss Peregrine is a familiar name and I love this title because it immediately makes me question things.

I was fascinated with Celeste Ng talking about her process for writing and how she started off as a reader. She discusses her latest bestseller, Our Missing Hearts, here

This year was another opportunity to interview many intriguing authors and it was a delightful year of words. I want to thank all who provided me with free manuscripts for my review.

This month the top 10 viewership is from the United States, Indonesia, Singapore, Belgium, Germany, France, Russia, Canada, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, and India
