Review: Cristobal Bull
I was pleasantly surprised to receive a request to read Cristobal Bull.
Our neck of the woods has a rather large population of Bulls. In fact, a Bull riding arena is close by. On Saturday nights, many people watch a Bull Ride with a long round and a 6-man short round and I hear it is not uncommon to watch 60 heads of bulls - with one sure to be a new champion. However, I seldom receive a book that speaks about a Bull.
Written for young children aged 6 to 10 this story teaches about the importance of mindfulness and perseverance. It also teaches about diversity as Cristobal Bull travels to different locations and we learn what the area is known for and what he learns while in that location.
The craftsmanship of this story is ingenious! The story can assist children in seeing their value and learning how to have confidence, establish and maintain relationships, and gain self-awareness and the illustrations are wonderful.
