August 2024 and seeing Nelson

 

Much of August was spent at home playing with our new puppy and reading up on how to train this energetic little girl. 

I'm not sure I have mentioned it on here before but we frequently purchase our food from Farmers Markets. We took day trips this month to attend Farmers Markets in Ohio and Indiana. 

On one trip, we stopped at Mercer County Ohio's Farm Market. If you are ever in their area you might want to check out their Farmers Market which is located at the Mercer County Fairgrounds. And while you are there, you might want to take a gander at their 27 foot wooden sculpture they have named Nelson.

Mercer County Fairgrounds manager wanted a tourist attraction for Celina and added Nelson who was built by Bear Hollow Wood Carvers, of French Lick, Indiana.

Truth be told, everytime I see Bigfoot (Sasquatch) it makes me smile as it takes me back to my youth. I loved watching the Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Women and their adventures with Big Foot. I think it is pretty cool that these shows I watched in the 1970's were thinking in terms of augmentation and growing and developing technology.
