November 2024 and Precious Memories of Monroe
Monroe experienced some lameness near the end of October. We took him to the vet and learned Monroe had an aggressive form of Osteosarcoma. We sought out advice on his care from two animal speciality hospitals. Both offered the same advice so Monroe was laid to rest on November 2nd.
We had adopted Monroe in January of 2012 from an animal shelter. At that time he was already an adult dog. We do not know how old he was. We just know that he was a beautiful part of our family.
Monroe was also a part of this book blog! Monroe was often beside me while I read and sometimes he would pose for me with books or my tablet. From time to time, I get emails asking about him.
Monroe had a great life with us and he was the best companion. Monroe is truly missed by us and our other three dogs!
After Monroe left us, it seems we often spot a dog that looks like him. I wonder if that happens frequently to other humans who have lost a great canine friend.
