ADVANCED WALLET LIFE SUPPORT by Joshua Feblowitz MD, MS and Paul Jansson MD, MS.
If you come to check out this blog you might notice I have a lot of postings from medical professionals. Many books I read and review are written by doctors such is the case with the book I've just finished titled ADVANCED WALLET LIFE SUPPORT How to Resuscitate Your Finances (And Your Sanity) During Medical Training written by Joshua Feblowitz MD, MS and Paul Jansson MD, MS.
These doctors provided 13 easy to understand chapters that help readers navigate the complexities of personal finance. They also offer some suggestions for reading, websites and podcasts.
Most of us recognize whether we are a medical professional or not that pay will vary depending on our location and will hopefully increase over time. These doctors discuss salary and deductions and two key ingredients that will dictate your financial future, your behaviors and your luck - with most of the focus on behavior.
They look at insurance, liability, loan repayments, budgets and investments. They provided some strategies that will help protect you from financial disaster and allow you to master medicine and money. There are things listed that you can do to save money and options that may afford you an opportunity to make more money.
What do I like about this book?
I really like that the authors speak to the importance of a work-life balance and they offer practical, step-by-step guides.
What could possibly go wrong?
Many of us will face unimaginable things in our lifetime even if we are not involved in a position which entails saving lives, go to sleep, repeat. At some point in time we may need to use coping skills to decompress. While this books is geared to those in medical training, it can help us all find ways to break down complex situations making them more manageable.
I received a copy of this book from Joshua C. Feblowitz, MD, MS
