The Short Stories of De Maupassant Book League of America copyright 1941

What are you reading?

I was considering what to begin the year with when my husband suggested we meet and have lunch with a friend. I liked the idea of this and a trip to the bookstore frequently occurs on the drive home.

So off we went.  As we pulled up to the door of the bookstore, I saw no lights on and there was a large white sign on the door. While I sat in our toasty warm vehicle, my husband ran up to the door to check it out. He mouthed something to me which I could not comprehend. I then saw the clerk come out onto the portico. I opened my door and yelled from the vehicle, "Can I go on in?" The clerk responded, "Yes!"

I followed the clerk into the bookstore. After ample time combing the shelves, I made some purchases.

I returned home and am devouring one of the greatest  French short-story writers. Yes! The Short Stories of  De Maupassant Book League of America copyright 1941 is a treasure.
