February 2023 Reads and Our Relationships
Celebrating Connection and Cozy February Moments
February is a month filled with celebrations that bring us closer to the people we care about. Whether it’s Valentine’s Day, Valentine’s, or simply taking time to connect with loved ones, the focus on relationships is a beautiful reminder of what truly matters in life.
Speaking of Valentine’s Day, did you know that the quality of our relationships is one of the biggest predictors of our happiness? It’s something I often reflect on while buried in a good book. But when I think back on my happiest moments, they almost always involve sharing laughter with friends, family, and loved ones.
This Valentine’s Day, my husband and I knew we’d be apart for a large portion of the day due to work commitments. Instead of waiting until the last minute, we decided to make time for each other earlier in the month. We tried out a few new restaurants and spent some relaxing moments at the lake, taking in the fresh air and enjoying each other’s company. It was a simple but meaningful way to connect, and I’m so glad we made it a priority.
On another note, I think we can all agree that spring can’t come soon enough! The winter chill has definitely overstayed its welcome, and I’m looking forward to warmer days. During these cooler months, we’ve been spending a lot of time at the dog park. Our Bernese Mountain dog crossbreed has an immense amount of energy to burn, so the park has been the perfect outlet for her. It’s always a sight to see her herd our other dogs around, and it’s a relief when they all come home from the park and crash for a good nap!
All in all, February has been a month filled with laughter, good food, and quality time with loved ones. I’ve also found myself watching more TV and films than usual during these winter evenings. Some of the highlights were The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, Dog Gone, Sr., That '90s Show, and Wednesday. They made for some entertaining and cozy nights in.
Reading-wise, it’s been a fantastic month! I revisited some old favorites, caught up on a few TBR (To Be Read) books, and even got my hands on some advanced reader copies. Below is the list of books I read and posted about in February:
Looking ahead, I’m excited for the change of seasons, more time spent outdoors, and plenty of new books to dive into. Here’s to making more memories and enjoying every moment!
