A Beautiful Day

It's always nice to start a post ' A Beautiful Day'.  It's been good to have time to relax and get away to Indian Island. This island sits in the middle of the Maumee River and is on the right in the photo above.

We were sitting on a bench along the river when we viewed a bald eagle,  blue herons and watched these kayakers making their way toward shore. 

We then left there and went to the beautiful Weir Rapids.

This is an awe-inspiring sight. The rapids span across the Maumee River. 

The sound of rushing water, the feel of the sun on my face, and the warm gentle breeze blowing my hair made for a lovely time reading along the Maumee River.

During our beautiful day away, we also toured 3 charming and unique bookshops in this area. The Happy Historian Bookshop, Nevermore Used Books and Gathering Volumes. All of these were bookshops to savor, with precious books, portraits, photos, and decor and you can click on their name for my tour of the bookshop.
